About the Artist...
I was born in Beaumont, Texas August 19, 1962 and still reside there.
I am a self taught artist. Since I was a child I loved to look at art books and went to art museums. I felt a sense of me in the paintings and a calmness there.
I took my first art class at the age of nineteen by Al Gaytan, for a couple of years, on and off. In my early twenties I did cartoon work for various clients.
I study on my own of the human body and have already sold some of my life drawings. My role models are Francis Bacon and the German Expressionists, Edvard Munch, Franz Marx and Georg Baselitz.
I am drawn to the poet Sylvia Plath. She gives me a feeling of my own inner self. I would love to be able to paint the way she writes.
