One of seven "Key to the Universe" objects stolen from junkyard storage by the "Time Thief Gang" in AD2022. It dates from circa AD4800 and the "Everything Goes Around Twice" cult which was already in decline. This example is unique because of the hydrocarbon knob. Chemical analysis shows traces of two similar knobs on either side of the "Intake Without Exit." It also has the agate Illustration of the universe.
By AD3000 five Keys and three Illustrations were in museum hands, all from separate sources. This is the only paired example.
In AD4807 someone in AD2022 twisted the peg knobs parallel and blew up the associated galaxy. This prompted the "Twice Around" cult to beg the Galactic Commission to appeal to the Time Judges who disabled the lost units at a severe cost in energy and taxes. This hastened their demise and the "Twice Arounds" were soon replaced by the "Balloon" culture.
This object is not harmless. It was only disabled per Regulation 72b which prevents catastrophic events. By AD4000 173 confirmed Distortions had occurred with several hundred thousand unconfirmed events. There was a large cluster centered around AD3300 thought to be caused by the Pre-History Agitators screwing with the adjustments. Be careful if you buy it.
